Have you ever felt successful on paper, yet somehow misaligned in your core? Like you're doing well but something essential is missing? This week, we gather Around the Fire to explore how a single question launched an extraordinary journey of self-discovery.

For Andreas Dorn, founder of Asia Mind Dynamics and NLP trainer, success came with a puzzling paradox. While helping others transform their lives, a nagging sense that something was missing in his own self-understanding persisted—until one innocent question from a student changed everything.
The Question That Stopped Him in His Tracks
"Andreas, you dedicate yourself so fervently to NLP, tirelessly helping us comprehend its transformative power. How do you avoid burning out? How do you maintain such resilience and energy? How come you are not stressed? You don't even look tired?"
While Andreas responded with a smile about creating fun in his life, internally he recognized there was more to explore. This seemingly simple question launched his journey into understanding his own inner drivers—the chemistry that pushed him forward throughout his life.
"I sat down and started to ponder," Andreas shares. "I once and for all wanted to know what am I really all about. What is the chemistry within myself? The stuff that pushes me forward and where is it coming from?"
The Search for the Common Thread
Looking back at his winding career path that spanned continents and industries, Andreas initially saw no obvious pattern. "My first step was to look at my own professional resume. I wanted to identify a common thread that guided me through my professional career. It was all over the place," he admits.
What followed was an extensive process of self-examination—peeling back the layers of his experiences like an onion, searching for the deeper patterns that explained his unique approach to life and work.
The insight that eventually emerged would transform his understanding of himself and unlock unprecedented fulfillment and energy. But what was this revelation? And how did it change everything?
The Breakthrough That Changed Everything
Andreas's journey led him to a profound realization about seemingly contradictory aspects of himself that had created an inner tension throughout his career. When he finally discovered how to honor and integrate these aspects, something remarkable happened.
"I now feel fulfilled and know my purpose in life," Andreas shares. "It gives me this deep sense of inner alignment."
This alignment became the source of his remarkable energy and resilience—the very qualities that prompted his student's question in the first place.
What Might Your Inner Journey Reveal?
What contradictory drivers might be creating tension in your life? What childhood patterns might reveal your deepest authentic needs? And what might change if you could bring them into alignment?
"Looking back, the steps taken now look so incredibly easy," Andreas reflects, "but at that time, it felt like a tall wall in front of me."
