What Happens When a Room Full of Strangers Becomes a Family?
- Mar 3
- 2 min read
That's exactly what the GEH Tribe Monday Meetup showed us, again.
What do a chemical engineer turned actor, an AI marketing architect, an HR professional at a crossroads, and a Dancing Economist have in common?
They all pulled up a chair around our fire this week — and the stories that followed reminded every single person in the room why they keep coming back.
Read the highlights of this week's GEH Tribe Meetup below.

When Your Path Doesn't Look Like Anyone Else's
This week's conversation kept circling back to one truth: the unconventional path is often the most honest one. Chrishanne wanted hotel catering. Her family had other ideas. She chose communications — and never looked back.
Elijah studied physics, caught the tech bug, and is now building toward becoming a venture capitalist.
Mickey went from IT to marketing by leaning into one simple skill: writing that actually connects.
None of them followed the map. All of them found their way.
The Crossroads Nobody Talks About
Julian joined us for the first time this week, and his story stopped the room. Sales. HR. Recruitment. A new business idea forming. He's standing at exactly the kind of crossroads many of us have faced — and Sreeram put it perfectly: it's like a SWOT analysis of your own life. Where are your strengths pointing you? What's the next chapter you haven't written yet?
From Engineer to Everything Else
Al made us laugh and think in equal measure. Chemical engineering lab to talent scouting and acting. He described it simply: he went from working with compounds to working with people. Sometimes the biggest pivot makes the most sense in hindsight.
Yuvarajan had his own version of this — a childhood love of music, set aside, then reclaimed after moving to Kuala Lumpur. Life has a way of circling back.
The Song That Closed the Session
Andrea ended the meetup the way only she can — with a song proposed by Yuva. Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield filled the virtual room, and it said everything. The page is still blank. The pen is still in your hand.
Reflection Questions for You This Week:
What chapter of your life are you standing at the edge of?
Is there a passion you set aside that's still quietly waiting?
Who in your community knows your next chapter — and can support it?
Want to be part of conversations like this?
Join us every Monday for our Around the Fire meetup — free, open, and full of real people sharing real stories. No labels, no judgment. Just your story, and a community ready to hear it.

P.S. Every story shared in our community has the potential to become part of the 365 Empowering Stories book collection — the world's largest digital human story repository. If you have a story of transformation, we'd love to hear it.
